Bonnie Beryl (Lancaster) Whitehurse, 87 of New Franklin, passed away at Ashley Manor in Boonville on July 5, 2023.

Bonnie was born in Fayette on August 16, 1935, a daughter of David and Ida (Elliott) Lancaster.  She married Johnny Wayne Whitehurse on October 28, 1954.  She enjoyed the farm life with Johnny working side by side with him for 55 years until they retired from the farm in 2001.  Bonnie loved her family and they loved her.  She enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing.  She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Boonville.

Those cherishing her memory include a son, John David Whitehurse and wife, Sharon of Boonville; two daughters, Janet Colleen McCoy and husband, Phil of Phoenix, Arizona and Lisa Jane Andler and husband, David of Aviano, Itlay; a sister, Marcia Solter and husband, Rufus of Washington, Missouri; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Robert Lancaster and a sister, Mary Holtzclaw.

A funeral service honoring Bonnie’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with Father Mark Smith officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow the funeral at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Boonville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made in Bonnie’s memory to Ashely Manor Resident Activities Fund or The American Cancer Society.
