Bobby Gene McClelland, 78, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away September 6, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Siteman Cancer Center, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Bobby was born in Fayette, Missouri, on March 25, 1947, son of Bobby Noel McClelland and Margaret Louise “Lou” Jackson McClelland. He was married to Mary Kathryn Simmons from 1969 until 1998. He married Anne Parton on May 12, 2000.
He was raised in Franklin, Missouri, and attended school in New Franklin. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Education, and taught for several years. He also sold insurance, built homes during summer breaks, had a boat dealership and operated a fur business, but eventually entered the construction industry exclusively. He retired as a Project Manager from EAS, Ltd in 2018, having worked for several other large construction companies, including Superior Utilities, Sunmount Construction of Lane Industries, and Brown & Root. Outside of work, he enjoyed his friends, hunting, fishing, and playing poker tournaments.
In addition to his wife, Anne, Bobby is survived by 2 sons and 1 daughter, Daniel Eugene McClelland, Charles Edward McClelland and Leisa Dianne McClelland; son-in-law Jason Urias, and daughter-in-law, Rose Clark; 2 stepsons, Noah Jesse Weitkemper, and Jonah Matthew Parton; 5 grandchildren, Austin Kennedy Clark-McClelland, Claira Anne Marie Miller (Weitkemper), Zoey Jane Rose Weitkemper, Oliver Aidan Ezzeddine Weitkemper, Noah Edward Tripp; 1 great-granddaughter, Abigail Amelia Marie Krueger; 2 sisters, Evelyn Mae Gerding and Connie Marie Brown; 1 brother-in-law, James Gerding; 1 uncle and aunt, Buck and Frances Jackson and 2 nephews, Keegan “Boone” Bryan and Nate Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Jacob Stuart Weitkemper.
A family burial will take place at Clarks Chapel Cemetery..
