Beniam Ghiday Obituary

Biniam Ghiday was born on July 16, 1957, to his father Ghiday Zerimariam and his mother Amleset Kelib in Adi Quala, Seraye, Eritrea. After a short, unexpected illness he passed away on July 7, 2024, at home with his family, and friends lovingly by his side.
Biniam immigrated to the United States of America in 1983 and pursued his education first at the University of Missouri and later at Southern Illinois University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1993. After graduation, he worked at 3M manufacturing company until he passed away.
In 1993 he married Yordanos Mail in Asmara, Eritrea and are proud parents of their three children, Elizabeth (22), Alexander, 19) and Isaiah (12). Biniam engaged in music, dancing, playing soccer and watching baseball, soccer, and football. He also developed habits running for more than an hour every morning before work throughout the year regardless of weather conditions. Biniam is survived by his sister Hiwet and brothers Afewirki, Haile, Michael, and Dr. Fssehaie. He is proceeded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. He was a proud and loving husband, father, brother, and friend. His sudden departure came as a great shock and deep wound to his family and friends.
Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayer for Biniam and his family. We will dearly miss him.
