Barbara “Terry” Curry, 85, went to be with her Lord on January 31, 2022.
Terry was born on January 21, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Adrian and Beatrice Taron. On October 13, 1955, she married Donald Curry in Alameda, California, after 48 years of marriage he preceded her in death in 2004.
Terry was full of life and love and was such a joyful spirit. She was one of the most thoughtful and generous individuals with the purest heart and sweetest soul. She worried about everyone else over her own needs and wished for happiness for all those around her. Terry had a smile that was contagious, one you could even hear when she spoke. She enjoyed making cards on her computer for all her friends and family for every occasion. She put a lot of time and thought into making them just right using her beloved pictures to customize for each recipient. She was a strong Christian who was devoted to watching worship services from home every Sunday with her church, Open Door Church. She was a prayer warrior and her strong faith carried her through life. Her family brought her a great deal of joy and gave her purpose; she will be greatly missed but left a lifetime of wonderful memories and love to be cherished.
Terry is survived by her son, Russell Curry of Fulton; grandchildren, Jamie Curry (Tonia) of Columbia, Jennifer Wood (Marcus) of Asheville, North Carolina and Billy Leaton (Natasha Walton) of Reidsville, North Carolina; five great grandchildren, Gunner, Eli, Dakota, Kirsten, Jordan; half brother, Adrian Taron, Jr. of California and sister-in-law, Sue Curry of Columbia.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Selman in 2019 and a granddaughter, Christina Curry in 1995.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
