Avis L. Marshall of Columbia, MO passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 at the age of 83.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 16 at the Carr-Yager Funeral Home in Fayette, MO.

Beloved daughter of Johnnie and Anna Elder; mother of Susan (Mark) Hingst, S.Kent (Deborah) Marshall and pre-deceased Greg Marshall; devoted grandmother to Ben (Heather) Hingst, Brian (Anna) Hingst, Stacy Marshall, Nick Marshall and Bruce Marshall; twin sister of Eva (Jerry) Henderson, sister of Charles (Faye) Elder, Harry ( Maxine) Elder; great grandmother of Noah and Lilah (Ben and Heather) Hingst, Harrison (Brian and Anna) Hingst and Jackson (Nick) Marshall. Avis was a cherished aunt; cousin; and friend to many.

Avis was born in Gilman City, MO on May 15, 1935 and graduated from Gilman City High School. She married William G. Marshall in 1953 and they divorced in 1968. She moved to Columbia in 1968 and raised her three children.

Avis found joy in her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed big band music and supported St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
