Arthur Bennett Obituary

Arthur Lindsey Bennett Junior (“Auckie”), 79 years old, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Fulton, Missouri.

Arthur was born in Boonville, Missouri on March 12, 1946, to Arthur Lindsey Bennett Senior and Anna Louise Watts Bennett. He spent his childhood creating many happy memories with friends and family in New Franklin, Missouri. He was a member of 4-H growing up. He carried many of his hobbies from his early years into adulthood, including cooking and gardening. He made sure to share his beloved family tradition of apple-butter making with younger generations.

Arthur was a graduate of New Franklin High School and later went on to attend Central Missouri State University and the University of California at Berkeley, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.

After graduation, Arthur made a living doing something he loved, traveling, as a flight attendant with Transcontinental Airlines and United Airlines. During this time, he served as Vice President of the Local Transport Workers Union in San Francisco. He went on to enjoy careers at AAA Auto Club, as well as in the Human Resources department at the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville. He retired from SER National Employment Agency, where he helped members of the senior community seeking job skills and new opportunities.

Arthur’s hobbies included traveling, painting and cooking.

Survivors include his cousins Donna Friedrich, Earlene Doyle, Daisy Nowlin and Marvin Smothers. He played a loving and memorable role in the lives of Gene Baldi (husband to Jennifer Muzinic), Allison Musgrave (wife of Mack and mother to Bennett and Simon Derossett), and Ellen Hammock (wife of Jeff and mother to Kathryn).

Memorial services honoring Arthur’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with Rev. Sarah Klaaseen officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
