1984 - 2018

George Andrew Thurman, II, age 33, of New Franklin, passed away February 7, 2018 at his home.

George was born on July 20, 1984 in Boonville, a son of George Andrew and Barbara Green Thurman.  He married Jessica Ryan McGee on June 7, 2008 in New Franklin. 

Mr. Thurman was employed with Union Pacific Railroad and had previously been employed with Boone County Public Works and the Central Missouri Food Bank.  He loved and was loved by his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing and barbequing.

Survivors include his wife, Jessica and their sons, Lane and Logan of New Franklin; his mother, Barbara Thurman of Blackwater; a brother, Marvin Thurman of Blackwater; two sisters, Melissa Barnhart of Jefferson City and Barbara Ann Kehoe of St. Clair, Michigan.  Also surviving are his father-in-law, Clifford McGee and wife, Jacqueline of New Franklin and his mother-in-law, Marlene Polinski and husband, Mark of New Franklin and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Andrew Thurman, I.

Services honoring his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Thurman Children’s Education Fund payable to Jessica Thurman.
