Donald "Don" E. Bressman

Donald “Don” E. Bressman, 69, of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 21, 2018.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time for the service.

Don was born on February 26, 1949, in Eureka, California to Donald J. and Laura L. Chambers Bressman and they preceded him in death. On November 29, 1986, he married Wanda Orton in Kansas City, Missouri and she survives.

Don proudly wore many hats in his lifetime. He was a Council Bluffs, IA police officer, an EMT for the Council Bluffs emergency squad, worked heavy construction in Houston, TX, car salesman in Omaha, NE, traveled extensively as a zone manager for Whittle Communications while living in Kansas City, MO area and Detroit, MI area, worked as a CNA and phlebotomist while at Columbia Regional Hospital and Rusk Rehab and worked a number of part-time jobs after having to take disability in 2003.  He tied a lot of himself to what his job was but he was so much more than that. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, camping and going to the beach but mostly because these were things he shared with others he cared about. His love for family, friends and God and his country truly defined him.

Don is also survived by his sons, David Bressman (Erica) of Hallsville and Aaron Bressman of Columbia; two sisters, Sue Perry (Mike) of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Donna Henry (Rob) of Omaha, Nebraska; and three grandchildren, Brady Alan, Bristol Lee and Beau Martin. Many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
