Dear Marlene, I am so sorry to hear of Scott's death. The pain of this one I know all too well. I have no easy answers other than your faith in God and your belief in the resurrection gives a lot of comfort and hope. You are on our prayer list at my church in Hannibal. May God bless you and keep you, may he keep his loving arms around you and ease your pain.
(When we worked together, my name was Martha Stech. Now I use my maiden name of Freiling)

We had both just recently thought of Scott and wondered how he was doing. When we saw the obituary in the Tribune, we felt both sadness and joy. Sad that he is no longer here with you and Cody, Marlene, but joyful that he is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior, whole in every way, no longer encumbered by a body scarred by cancer and it's aftermath.
Scott and you, Marlene, were such an encouragement to us. Your lives show how, with God's help and support from others, believers can live difficult lives with hope and courage. We love you dearly. I especially enjoyed the photos you posted on Facebook. It is another testimony of God's faithfulness that Scott lived to see Cody through his childhood and into adulthood.

Marlene and family rest assured we are praying for you. Scott was a blessing to all who knew him. He is free of cancer and pain . I'm not sure just how God will decide who gets to blow the trumpet when we are all called home, But somehow I think it will be Scott. He was so faithful here and has heard the well done. Sorry we won't be able to be there at his Memorial

I am so sorry to hear that Scott has passed. I know that it leaves a huge hole in your life, in your thoughts and, of course, in your hearts. I am Keith's Mother-in-law and walked with pride with his name on my shirt, during several Relay for Life annual walks. My mom also got to know and feel befriended by Scott, when he drove her several times from Candlelight to the Senior Center. Aunt Ester kept us apprised, requesting prayers, throughout his many bouts with cancer.
Its okay to miss him, but rest assured he is playing his trumpet in heaven with the hosts of Angels and If one could play and smile at the same time, he would be doing it.
God Bless each of you as you scroll through all your many memories. He fought the good fight and is now being rewarded living with our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ.
