Ruth Irene Martin of Columbia passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, at home.

Ruth was born to Elmer Bailey and Ethel Harn Foote on January 20, 1922 in Tonica, Illinois and they preceded her in death.  On April 4, 1944, she married Arthur J. Martin in Sarasota, Florida and he preceded her in death.  Before retirement she was employed as a nurse.

Ruth is survived by four daughters,  Linda Russell (Terry) of Tallahassee, Florida, Laura Starjak of Columbia, Mary Martin (Ken Sudduth) of Columbia and Sue Marciniak (John) of Spokane, Washington; a son, Samuel Martin (Sue) of Minooka, Illinois; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
