Russell Lee Barnes

1930 – 2017

Russell Lee Barnes, of Fayette, passed away August 12, 2017 at the Fayette Caring Center.  He was 87 years old.

Russell was born May 6, 1930, a son of the late Russell Francis and Roseina Knight Barnes.  He attended William Jewell College and Bolivar Theological Seminary and served as a Baptist minister officiating at many weddings and funerals.  Russell also was a delivery driver for Earl’s Veterinary Supply in Fayette.  Russell enjoyed traveling and buying and selling cars.

Survivors include a brother, Roy Stevens of Fayette; two sisters, Mary Tipton of Rocheport and Naomi Lyon of Armstrong and nieces and nephews.

At Mr. Barnes’ request his body is being donated to A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.
