Patsy Raines

1942 – 2017

Patsy Darlene Raines, of New Franklin, passed away August 10, 2017 at the University of Missouri Hospital.  She was 75 years old.

Patsy was born on in Franklin, MO on June 19, 1942.  She married Kenneth Raines in Howard County on September 6, 1958.  He survives at their home.  Patsy’s life was her family.  She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and many other kids she helped on the way.

In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she is survived by two sons, Blake and Shannon Raines; two daughters, Tammy Garrett (Lance Johnson) and Jennifer Wilhite (Troy); “adopted daughter,” Lisa Clay (Bill Gatewood); two brothers, Forest and Charles Ivy and a half-brother, Allen Ivy and five half-sisters, Jenny Sparks, Ida Perkins, and Anita, Karen and Pam.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, Scott (Raven), Samantha, Alexis, Briella, Shelby and Kaylee; two great-grandchildren, Kohlten and Nyomi and one “peanut” on the way.  Patsy and Kenneth also opened their home to many foster children over the years who survive. 

Patsy was preceded in death by her father, Junior Ivy; her mother, Ethelene Craig Ivy Wood and by a grandson, Tyler Simmons.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 14, 2017 at Boonesboro Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Purvis officiating. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Boonesboro Cemetery Association.
