Lois Evelyn Purvis

1923 – 2017

Lois Evelyn Purvis, age 93, of New Franklin, MO went to be with Jesus on March 30, 2017.  She was a charter member of the Friendship Foursquare Church.

Lois was born on June 15, 1923 in Nevada, MO to Leonard and Lydia Kessler Trout and grew up in Franklin, MO.  She is survived by four sons, Elwood Purvis (Annette) of Henderson, NV; Wayne Purvis (Judy) of Franklin, MO; Dale Purvis of Franklin, MO and David Purvis (Beverly) of Boonville, MO and by two daughters, Evelyn Dougherty (Zed) of Boonville, MO and Lois Miller (Larry) of Franklin, MO.  Lois is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and a daughter-in-law.

Lois spent her working life serving people at the Windmill Restaurant.  She spent her retirement spoiling grandkids and great-grandkids and making breakfast buffets to please them all and taking them fishing.  She loved playing cards, whistling gospel songs and praying for all of her loved ones.  She was known as a prayer warrior.  Lois will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Friendship Foursquare Church in New Franklin.

Burial service will follow at Clarks Chapel Cemetery, Franklin, MO.
