Linca A. Scarlett, Jr., of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at home.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  A reception will follow the service.  Informal dress is requested.

Linca was born to Linca A., Sr. and Marlene Brandon Scarlett on December 12, 1975, in Kingston, New York.  He was raised in Kingston, where he enjoyed playing football and spending time with friends.

“Big Linc”, as he was known to family and friends, worked at Holcim Cement in Catskill, New York, until it closed.  After moving to Missouri in 2011 he worked as a patient care technician at the University of Missouri, where he formed many close relationships with co-workers who adored him.

In 2004 Linca met the love of his life, Amy Brown, who was a respiratory therapist on a traveling assignment from Iowa.  There was an instant connection and they married on October 21, 2006 in Las Vegas.

Linca’s life revolved around his wife and two beautiful children, Linca and Layla.  He was a natural born father who loved attending their activities and sharing in their love of music.

Linca will long be remembered for his extraordinary kindness and compassion, and will be greatly missed by those fortunate to have known him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Amy; children, Linca and Layla; Parents Linca, Sr. and Marlene; brother, David; sisters, Lisa, Aliesha and Charm; mother and father-in-law, Roz and Patrick; brother-in-law, Erin and a host of friends.
