Lee (Blue) Ardrey, of Columbia, MO, passed away at home on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the age of 68 after losing a 3-year battle with cancer.

Lee was born to parents Ivan Sr. and Bea Ardrey on December 15, 1948 in Columbia, MO. He was a 1967 graduate of Hickman High School. On March 11, 1966, he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Linda Sapp Ardrey.

He proudly retired in 2008 as Manager of Operations after 41 years of employment at Boone Electric Cooperative. Lee passionately ran the “War Room” during storms to make sure every last light was back on.

Lee was a devoted family man that loved the outdoors, motorcycling, hunting, playing golf, and remodeling. Many happy years were spent at the Lake of the Ozarks fishing, boating, skiing, and swimming even though he couldn’t swim a lap! Lee took many trips with his beloved wife and close friends all over the US on their motorcycles. Lee loved hunting with his son and grandsons. Lee loved playing golf and always said, “If you can’t play good, you better look good.” And boy he looked good!

Lee is survived by his wife, Linda Ardrey; daughter, Teresa Schlager (Jeffrey) of Kansas City; his son, Travis Ardrey (Jennifer) of O’Fallon; his sister, Penny Davis of St. Charles; and seven grandchildren, Ashlee Dennis (Kel), Alisabeth, Austin, Allyson, and Andrew Schlager of Kansas City, Jacob and Sam Ardrey of O’Fallon. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Ivan Jr. (Pear Head) Ardrey.

Lee was always full of life and laughter and will be missed by all. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Community United Methodist Church, 3301 West Broadway, Columbia, MO, at 4:00p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017. A visitation will follow at 5:00p.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor Curtis. As per his wishes cremation services are under the care of Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel.
