Jill Thompson, 55, of Springfield, MO, formerly of New Franklin, passed away October 30, 2017 at her home.

Jill was born in Boonville on January 20, 1962 to Ewell Elton and Lois Elaine Kennedy Thompson.  She was a Pediatric Registered Nurse at Lakeland Hospital in Springfield.  She had also been employed as a travel nurse for several years making friends across the United States.  Her other employment included nursing at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics and as a nanny in Boston.  She earned her LPN Degree at Boonville Vo-Tech and her RN Degree at Columbia College.  Jill was an avid reader and loved her canine companions.

Survivors include a brother, Vaughn Alexander Thompson of Warrensburg; sister, Victoria Wainscott and husband, Richard of Boonville; two nephews, Matthew Studley and Eric Wainscott; a niece, Amy Ivicsics; her best friend, Sandy Bader; seven great-nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2017 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
