Frances Elizabeth Strodtman

1932 – 2017

Frances Elizabeth Strodtman, of New Franklin, passed away July 17, 2017 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital.  She was 84 years old.

She was born November 5, 1932 in Howard County, near Fayette, Missouri a daughter of David Matthew and Susie Maybell Green Hendrix.  On August 16, 1952, she married Francis Leroy Strodtman in Harrison, Arkansas.  He preceded her in death on September 15, 2015.

Frances was a member of Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin.  She loved her family and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren.  Her favorite activities included quilting, crocheting, reading, gardening and camping.

Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Strodtman of New Franklin; three daughters, Dana Jenks and husband, Bill of New Franklin, Susan Eaton and husband, Jim of Pilot Grove, Eileen Stapp and husband, Mike of Washington, MO; a brother, Keith Hendrix and wife, Nancy of New Franklin; and two sisters, Linda and Sheryl Hendrix both of New Franklin.  Also cherishing her memory are fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Monte Strodtman; a daughter, Stacy Strodtman and two brothers, Roy Russell Hendrix in infancy and Wayne Hendrix.

Funeral services honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin.  Interment will follow at Boonesboro Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 24, 2017 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.
