Charlotte Ann (Hart) Sulzberger of Columbia, Missouri passed away in her home August 1, 2017 surrounded by her husband and their two daughters. Ann was born August 6, 1941 in her parents’ home north of Carrollton, Missouri, the first child of Charles Ray and Flossie Mae (Hunter) Hart.
She attended elementary school in Liberty, Mo. and returned to Carrollton for the seventh grade at Dietrich school where she met childhood sweetheart Harry Sulzberger. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1959, the last year of the “Old High School” on North Jefferson St. and then studied at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Mo.
Ann married Harry Sulzberger on September 3, 1961 in the Carrollton Methodist Church. Ann accompanied her husband to Izmir, Turkey following his commission to the US Air Force. In 1966, they settled in Columbia, Mo.
Ann was a 50+ year member of Missouri United Methodist Church and member of Chapter AZ of PEO. She is survived by her husband Harry, daughters Leigh Ann Pool (Henry) of Greensboro, NC and Elizabeth Hart Hollas (William) of Cypress, Tx, grandchildren Hunter, Mason, Boone and Camille Pool (Greensboro) and Ben, Ann, and Emma Hollas (Cypress, Tx.), her mother Flossie Mae Hart and brother Robert Sherman Hart, both of Carrollton, Mo. She was preceded in death by her father.
There will be a visitation at Missouri United Methodist Church - McMurry Chapel Friday August 4, 2017 from 6-8:00 pm. The funeral service will be in the sanctuary of Missouri United Methodist Church August 5, 2017 at 1 pm followed by a reception. A private burial service will be at Columbia Cemetery for the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Missouri United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society or the Central Missouri Food Bank.
