Joe
I just learned today about Alice's passing. I was in Guatemala 17-24 so missed the news. One of my favorite photos was all of us at a lunch at Country Club. Alice was so supportive all those years of Juice Plus. If you need help around house please call me.

We are so very sorry about the passing of Alice. She was such a strong presence at Grant School while our boys were there - and of course her earrings and cheery smile was always a part of her persona. She touched the lives of many, and we are glad to count ourselves among those so blessed to have known her.

Some of my earliest memories are of Alice and Joey coming to see my big brother. Both always took the time to entertain me, and Joey always had a piece of Juicy Fruit gum for me. I only remember smiles and happiness when they were around. What a beautiful couple. Joey, I am sorry for your loss.

Sincerely,
Renie

We are so glad we could attend the service honoring Alice's life. It was a beautiful reminder of the life she lived, walking so closely with the Lord. We enjoyed Alice, you, Rodney and Josh when we were at Evangelical Free Church with you. A few years later, it was such a blessing to have Alice teaching our children at Grant Elementary School. She directed so many wonderful activities for the Grant School community, especially the Bike Club which was not only fun, but provided valuable safety instructions we could all use in biking as well as driving. Joe, we look forward to seeing you at the gym and in the community. Our love and prayers for you and your family.

Joe and family
I am so sorry to hear of Alice's passing. I was in Canada when I received the message from Greg Rhodenbaugh. I fondly remember the brief year we spent together at Mizzou in 1965-66 and what a classy lady she was. I am sorry our paths did not cross more often, and am thankful for the short visit we had at John's Hall of Honor ceremony a few years ago.
Deepest condolences. I know your faith will support you at this tough time.
Best wishes, Bill Putnam

Coach Joe, So sorry to hear of your loss. Alice was a remarkable lady. She was steadfast and true facing all the challenges that we swimmers put both of you through. She was genuine in showing Christ’s love even when we were unlovable. Her legacy will live on but she will be greatly missed!

Such a shock to see Alice had passed. She was my absolute favorite teacher at Ridgeway Elementary. I will never forget her. I would have been there for her service but I only now found out about it. Please know that I am praying for Alice and family at this difficult time.

In Christ,

Kim & I have you and the family in our thoughts and prayers, Coach Joe.

Your love for the Lord taught so many swimmers from the mid '70s, like me, what a joyful, integrated and obedient faith looks like. Bible studies led by a man who, like the disciples, found Jesus from Judaism.

Your faith touched every part of your life, but nowhere more evident than your love of Alice and the family. You two were temporary parents to all the swimmers for those winter breaks with Christmas at the long course workouts of the Fort Lauderdale Coaches Forum.

By organizing and having us lead the Forum's Christmas Eve Service in the outdoor stadium, you taught us that evanglism can be a verb that can change the life of swimmers from all over the US.

I celebrate Alice's life & yet morn the short time we miss our family & old friends until we all find our home with the Lord forever.

God Bless you, Joe & Alice!

Greg
